Biography
He is the most prominent and well- known researcher in the field of Hypnotherapy and hypnosis in Iran. Beside being graduated in anesthesiology and cardiac anesthesia as subspecialty, he has been trained in heart transplantation anesthesia in Paris (2009) and became a faculty member of Iran University of Medical Sciences (Tehran) at the same time. He is an associate professor of cardiac anesthesia in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences and the director of Training program of cardiac anesthesia fellowship there. He is one of the first trainers in Iranian Scientific Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ISSCH) who has nearly 30 years of experience in the field. He has been a board member of ISSCH for 18 years and has the most important role in the enhancement of clinical hypnosis as a science in Iran. Dr. Fathi has organized four international congresses on hypnosis in Iran (2012,2013 , 2015 and 2016) while he was the scientific secretary and main organizer of them. He is also the scientific secretary and main organizer of the first world congress on hypnodontics (September 2016) and international congress on Mental training (2017). He is the main organizer of the first Asian hypnosis congress on October 2019. He has organized more than 200 hypnosis conferences around Iran universities and presented many articles in national and international conferences. He has been the supervisor or advisor of more than 50 Master’s thesis to post-doctoral dissertations based on the integration of hypnosis with psychology, medicine and anesthesia in Iran. Dr. Mehdi Fathi has published many articles in international journals (ISI and PubMed indexed) and he has written 65 book titles about hypnosis and health care. He is the chief of the only branch of ISSCH in Khorasan province in Mashhad and a pioneer in using hypnosis for painless childbirth in Iran
